Because Friendship Cares For Neither Time Nor Distance

A few weeks ago Naomi in Japan sent me an email with a comment she wanted to leave at my earlier post representing my regularly scheduled musings on past and present relationships. I want to post it here because she couldn't post comments at the time, not having a Blogger account, but also because it served to remind me that somewhere, sometime along the path of my life, I must have done something right to deserve friends this good.

Hey love,

I empathize with your situation.

There have been a few friendships from my past which I have watched burn and crash in horrible ways. Sometime I stay awake wondering how I could have prevented it. Only to slowly realize that sometimes these things happen or own up to my part of the break up.

I love living in Japan and meeting new people, but like you, sometimes I miss the depth of my close friendships back home. To have someone near who knows all your pros and cons and still loves you. Warts and all.

I know it is not the same, but here is a electronic hug from my soul to another.

But I must say, I think this backstroke you speak of, sounds like a promising way to go about life.

Cheers!

Naomi

P.S I am always thinking of you.
